The Green Thumb began over twenty years ago as a little retail flower shop in the Campus West area of Fort Collins. Purchased by the Hanck family in 1981, they quickly realized they could make their niche in the community by specializing in the plant maintenance and care business, rather than competing in a market glutted with retail flower shops.
Sarah Ellis and her husband, Dave, took over the business from Sarah's parents, Rob and Kathy Hanck, in 1997. Together, Sarah and Dave have expanded The Green Thumb's services from strictly maintenance of interior plants to include leasing and rental, artificial plants, outdoor containers and a host of professional design services. With a staff that includes trained technicians, horticulture and landscape specialists, and a sales team, The Green Thumb has also expanded their service area from Fort Collins to all along the Front Range. Our technicians provide weekly and biweekly service to businesses and homes in Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, Fort Collins, Cheyenne, and Laramie.
Despite such an increase in services and service area, The Green Thumb still provides the customer service one would expect of a family run business, including the personal oversight of the design and installation of all interiorscapes for their customers. |
